To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its foundation, the Federal Office of Communications has hosted the "1st Biel Bienne Communication Days 2002" on 2 and 3 May 2002 in collaboration with the City of Biel Bienne.

This two-day conference has addressed crucial questions regarding the evolution of our society as a function of the development of telecommunications. Themes such as the Information Society and the status of the telecommunications market in Switzerland has been at the centre of the discussions and round table sessions.

Numerous speakers

Many players from the telecommunications and media sector have participated. They have discussed, among other topics, liberalisation, the Information Society, the necessity of political action and the radio and television market.
